Here are the main elements. The Terrace Tower Cube, a semicircular tower built around 1586 on an Islamic Port, was cast in the 20th century.

The Adarve of the northern wall; the Plaza de Armas. The Terrace Plaza de Armas and the Torre de la Vela, named the defensive tower of the largest joint military for its height, dominates the plain of Granada. Its name comes from the bell that Christians placed in the tower after the conquest of the city.

The La Torre del Homenaje, which stands on the highest part of the fortress, is just over 22 meters high, and inside there are six floors. The highest level was used to serve the Warden from the operations center of the defense.

Other buildings include the Tower of Hidalgo, La Torre Quebrada, La Torre Adarguero, (the latter three towers overlook the vast esplanade), and the Garden of Adarve, which was created in the 17th century, during the defensive strength period. There are good views from this garden.

The citadel was a military zone, the center of defense and surveillance of the site, and it was part of the oldest building in the Alhambra. Arabs made the first buildings, which matched the Caliphate era, in the 11th century, expanding them to become one of Grenada’s capitals—the Taifa kingdom
